In 2018 the orthopaedic department decided that it had been such a long time since the rheumatology department had last seen me so they asked them to see me again in case there was anything new in their area that they could do for me.
So, in March I went to see them and I don’t remember the exact words the consultant used but they translated to mean ‘what did I expect I was a fat, old cripple (FOC) who has osteoarthritis and not rheumatoid arthritis and I should not bother the rheumatology department again’.
It’s a good job Bob was with me as nobody would believe me that a doctor would actually speak to a patient like that.
FOC
I don’t know why you’re bothering me
As you’re just another FOC.
You waste my time and make me so annoyed
As your arthritis is osteo not rheumatoid
